Creating a Collagraph and Gelli Plate Painting Collage

Creating a Collagraph and Gelli Plate Painting Collage

In this video, I'm going to show you how I made a print using just a gelli plate and a bonus collagraph.

First, I did some studies of my subjects using black and white acrylic paint and decided on the composition and colors I wanted to use. I'm excited to demonstrate how to paint with the gelli plate, using a paintbrush and overlaying some color graph design on top. Leaving some dried paint on the gelli plate provides texture and I use masking tape to block out areas I don't want to paint. I use different colors to create different parts of the print, and I show you how to reuse the gellu plate by wiping off the old design with a baby wipe. It's a fun and creative way to paint, and I really hope you enjoy watching me create this print!
